BioLAB's Outreach Program Trials

BioLAB's newest outreach program "Beat That!" had its maiden debut with Year 6 at Montpellier Primary School today! "Beat That" introduces students to the wonders of the human circulatory system and sport science. Students get to experience a real time sport science experiement which utilises cutting edge technology such as ipads, polar heart rate monitors and data loggers to map the reaction of the circulatory system to exercise. Outreach Education Officer, Renee Lane, was very excited to see this activity launched and commented on how excited students were to combine, sport, science and maths together in the one activity, " our little lab rats did a great job, they got to experience the work of a medical scientist, athlete and statistician all in the one activity!" said Renee.
